Béranger

(Nantes, France, 1968)

"The figurative aspect sometimes flirts with the abstract or the surrealism."

Philippe Béranger tries to celebrate the everyday life by transcending it. Extracts of his close surroundings emerge from the paintings, where the figurative aspect sometimes flirts with the abstract or the surrealism. By the treatment of the materials, fluid or textured, he claims above all "the plastic autonomy" for his painting, trying to exalt its most sensitive, and its most intimate content.
